News from Inner Wheel
What have we been up to lately?
Several of us went to Ditton recently for a gathering of members of Inner Wheel from our district. We all wore yellow as we had a presentation from the Yellow Men of Kadongdong, a Rotary charity for which we raised just over £5000 that day. This will help them to work on the clinic they have built in a remote part of Kenya.
On Tuesday in our own club we had fun making Christmas crackers, complete with silly jokes and cracker bangs!

Teddies for tragedies
Next week we have our Christmas lunch at Gillingham Golf Club.
We won’t be meeting over Christmas, but we will be helping out with the Rotary float and some of us are busy making ‘Teddies for Tragedies’, little teddies which bring great comfort to children who have lost everything in a tsunami, children who are very ill or in orphanages. Some doctors say that the teddies are often more effective than the pills! Well done Rosemarie on your 20th teddy – so far!!
Teddies on the move
One of our members, Allison Burns has taken some teddies to Sri Lanka. They have gone to Donbosco Home for Boys in Negombo where many of the boys are victims of the tsunami. Rosemarie Barnes has now made 32 teddies, plus 4 which are waiting to be stuffed!
Our next meeting is on World Inner Wheel Day and we have a speaker from Medway Cyrenians, talking about the work they do. It’s at our usual meeting place, hope to see everyone there, with as many teddies as possible!!
